v20 Plattenspielung resyncing

Hallo zusammen,

kennt sich jemand mit einer SUN V20 aus.
Ich will gerade 2 gleichgröße Platten von Segeate im SCSI Utilitiy Spiegeln.
Wenn ich das RAID anlege steht als RAID Status "resyncing" bedeutet das das ich noch warten muß oder ist die Sun V20 schon fertig.
Wenn nicht weiß jemand wie lange das dauert.?

meinst du eine v20z? also die amd maschine?

ist schon länger her, dass ich da was gemacht hab. genauer gesagt wars eine v40z, aber ich würde jetzt mal behaubten, die haben den selben scsi kontroller.
wenn du da das array erstellst, sollte doch solch ein balken kommen, oder nicht? dementsprechend ists dann fertig, wenn balken weg ist =)
sonst schau dir einfach mal die LEDs der disks an, wenn die wie wild blinken ist der bestimmt noch am syncen.. das dauert normalerweise auch sehr lange. je nach disk grösse und anzahl disks halb stunde, stunde. oder auch mehr..

Hab noch ne Frage......zum erstellen vom Raid auf einer V20z

Wenn ich im RaidMenü bin und ein Raid erstellen will bekommt man ein Auswahl, dass man entweder mit F3 Tast ein Raid mit 2 Platten oder mit Ent-Tast ein Raid 2-6 Platen erstellen kann.

Ich will ein Raid level 1 mit 2 Platten erstellen welches Menü benutze ich dann
Also ich wurde die Entf-Tast nehmen, da meine Vermutung bei der F3 Taste die Platen als Raid 0 level anlegt.

Wer kann mir da helfen.

Vor allem kannst du alternativ auf Solaris Ebene mit raidctl arbeiten.

raidctl <disk1> <disk2>
raidctl

Wobei disk1 & disk2 die primary und second disks darstellen.

Im Bios gehts so:

If you intend to mirror the boot disk you should use the built-in mirroring capability (RAID 1)3. Enable it at the LSI BIOS as described here.
During boot watch for LSI messages prompting you to press Crtl-C to enter the config utility;
press Ctrl-C.
1. Use the arrow keys to select an adapter ; press ENTER to go to the adapter properties screen.
2. Use the arrow keys to select RAID properties and press ENTER.
3. On the RAID properties screen move to the line with the primary disk (the disk with the  data that you want to mirror).
4. Use the arrow keys to move to the array disk column and use the +/- keys to select yes as the value.
5. When the KeepData/Erase Disk message appears, press F3 to keep the data that is on the disk. The value in the Status column will change to Primary.
6. Use the arrow keys to select the secondary (mirrored) disk for the volume. Use the +/- keys to select Yes as the value for the Array disk column. If partitions are defined on this disk, a message warns you that data on the disk will be lost when the mirror is created.
Press Delete to confirm erasing data from the disk.
7. Press Esc & select Save changes, then exit this menu (if you do not want to create the volume, select discard changes, then exit the menu). The mirror volume exists as soon as you save the changes. The RAID properties screen now displays the mirror volume properties and status.

ist ja ein Solaris OS schon installiert?

meine empfehlung ist, zuerst Solaris installieren und danach mit "raidctl" den spieglem anlegen!

raidctl greift direkt auf der Hardware zu und brauchst nichts mehr zu machen!!!
