Debian Etch Xorg Problem

Hallo,

mangels Monitor, der mit dem Signal einer Creator klarkommt (Adapter tut nicht, wie er soll) habe ich eine PGX32 in meiner U60.

Nun wollt ich Etch installieren, komme aber nicht bei der X-Konfig weiter.

Im neuen Installer kommt der Dialog scheinbar nicht mehr. Ich hab mal eine Radeon7000 hineingesteckt und ein X -configure zaubert auch eine bessere Xorg.0.log her (es erscheint eine Grafikkarte bei PCI-Scan, aber dann kommt der Treiber nicht mit den 64MB klar, jedenfalls scheitert er beim Initialisieren vom Speicher.
Die Permedia findet der X-Server scheinbar nicht.

Hab mit den verschiedensten Optionen probiert

Chipset "pm2"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0" usw.

Ergebnis immer das selbe: no sreens found :(

versuche mal ein

   dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

da sollte das dann auftauchen. Wenn es nicht inzwischen als
"veraltet" rausgeflogen ist.
Glaube ich bei DEBIAN aber nicht.

debian etch arbeitet mit xorg. xserver-xfree86 gibts nur noch als "transitional package" ( das heißt als dummy ) zum upgrade von sarge.

Wenn es nicht inzwischen als
"veraltet" rausgeflogen ist.
Glaube ich bei DEBIAN aber nicht.

Ja, vielleicht ist es bei der Umstellung auf Xorg unter den Tisch gefallen?
