Samba Backup Server und WindowsXP mit XCopy nutzen

Hi Leute, ich habe einen Samba 3.0 Fileserver (Gentoo 2.4 auf U5) und möchte von Windows XP aus bei jeden Shutdown per XCopy ein Backup auf den Server schreiben.

Dabei verwende ich folgende Parameter: "xcopy /e /d /y .... ..."

Erreichen will ich damit, daß nur die neuen, geänderten Daten kopiert werden. Ledier funktioniert dies nicht und  es werden immer alle Daten kopiert.

Hat jemand eine Idee?

rsync ist (noch) keine Alternative ;)

Versuch mal Robocopy. Damit kannst Du das prima machen.

Und DNS braucht's nicht, das ist was fuer Weicheier, die sich keine Zahlen merken koennen.

Hallo David,

aus Deiner Frage geht nicht hervor, welche Randbedingungen vorliegen, so dass rsync nicht in Frage kommt.
Es gibt in der Windows-Welt verschiedene Werkzeuge, die rsync ähnlich sind.
Beispielsweise dirsync und SyncToy. Letzteres gibt es direkt von Microsoft.

Hier mal die Optionen von Robocopy. Wir nutzen das zum nächtlichen Spiegeln, ohne immer alle Dateien nochmal zu kopieren.
