SENA und Solaris 10

hallo,

habe meine veritas testkiste mit liveupgrade von sol8 auf sol10 hochgezogen (ich weis ist nicht supportet...) und nun macht das a5200/luxadm zicken.

SunOS  5.10 Generic_142909-17 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-Enterprise

arrays werden erkannt, aber keine fc disks...

was ja irgendwie einleuchtet weil der bescheuerte socal treiber die dinger als scsi devices anspricht (war im sol8 definitv nicht so)

da ich die arrays gerne wieder mit luxadm administrieren würde ist das ganze ziemlich blöd...hat sich da irgendwas zwischen den releases geändert oder ist das SENA in sol10 gar nicht mehr supportet, was ich nicht denke da ich ja erfolgreich davon boote und auch mit den disks unter veritas arbeiten kann  ??? ???

Hallo Chris!


Ich hab auch eine E4500 mit (einem) A5200.  Allerdings S10 U<irgendwas> "direkt" installiert, kein Live Upgrade, und auch kein Veritas.

Da funktioniert luxadm einwandfrei.  Die Kiste ist allerdings länger nicht mehr angewesen...

hi,

ich bin auch eher der meinung das da irgendwelche libraries nicht richtig installiert/upgegradet wurden...hab aber keinen plan wie ich das verifizieren könnte...die SUNWlux* pakete haben jedenfalls das richtige install date....gibts für die a5200 spezielle pakete?

Schau Dir doch mal die Optionen von pkgchk an, vielleicht ist da was brauchbares zu dem Zweck dabei.

also hab mal mit pkgchk überprüft...alle luxadm pakete/komponenten sind status installed..hab auch gleich mal den aktuellen patch cluster drüber installiert...l, path_to inst socal einträge gelöscht, name_to_major überprüft /dev/dsk/* /dev/rdsk/* removed, driver readded reconfigure reboot -> luxadm ist immer noch beeinträchtigt :(

edit: und auch mal den ganzen fc stack gecheckt....

damit war gemeint das ein lu von 8 auf 10 nicht supportet ist, habe die maschine zwischenzeitlich neu installiert. wie auch immer es ist ne testkiste und es hat in der tat den anschein als ob in den aktuellen sf (u9) treiber kein vollwertiger sena support mehr enthalten ist und mit den sol9 paket bootet die kiste nicht weil sie verständlicher weise das modul nicht laden kann.

Die Photons waren vor mehr als 10 Jahren aktuell. Ich weiss nicht was das mit Bastelstubenzeiten zu tun haben soll, dass in der aktuellsten Version von Solaris 10 der Support für das Produkt offensichtlich nicht mehr wirklich vorhanden ist.

Photons sind Enterprise Hardware und Sun^H^H^HOracle wird kaum davon ausgehen, dass ausser ein paar Privatpersonen noch irgendjemand auf dieser Welt diese Teile am Laufen hat UND auch noch Solaris 10U9 dazu benutzt.

genau so ist es, es gibt keinen vollständigen support mehr für diese kombo...habe zu solaris 9 geswitched veritas läuft, luxadm läuft, veritas zertifizierung kann kommen ...mission completed!  8)
