netbsd 1.6 installation

bitte helft mir,
ich kann keine boot fähigen floppy disks für netbsd 1.6 erstellen... hat das vielleicht was mit dem foramt zu tun? 1,44mb vom hersteller dos -formatiert.....

in der netbsd anleitung stand, daß man damit keine boot disk machen kann :-(((

wie bekomme ich das hin?

Unter Windows ist rawwritewin.exe nötig.
Unter DOS verwendest du rawwrite.exe
Damit kannst du die Images auf eine Diskette schreiben.
Du findest die Dateien hier:

ich hab es mit rawrite unter windows, mit cat und dd unter linux versucht, nix geht :-( ich bin es heiß auch das netbsd, bitte hilf mir...

MS-DOS floppy
Count the number of set_name.xx files that make up the distribution sets you want to install or upgrade. You will need one sixth that number of 1.44 MB floppies.
Format all of the floppies with MS-DOS. Do not make any of them bootable MS-DOS floppies, i.e. don't use format /s to format them. (If the floppies are bootable, then the MS-DOS system files that make them bootable will take up some space, and you won't be able to fit the distribution set parts on the disks.) If you're using floppies that are formatted for MS-DOS by their manufacturers, they probably aren't bootable, and you can use them out of the box.

Place all of the set_name.xx files on the MS-DOS disks.

Once you have the files on MS-DOS disks, you can proceed to the next step in the installation or upgrade process. If you're installing NetBSD from scratch, go to the section on preparing your hard disk, below. If you're upgrading an existing installation, go directly to the section on upgrading.

Da kann dir bestimmt SunROOT#  was zu sagen.
So er hier irgendwann auftaucht.
Sonst sende ihm doch eine Mail.

scheint so als hättest du mit dem Hinweis per mail was anfangen können  

Falls andere Probleme mit den Floppy Images haben sollten, schaut doch einfach mal im Mail-Archiv des Sparc Port nach:

Schau man dort in die letzten 2-3 Monate wird man sehen, daß man mit seinem Floppy Problemen mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht allein ist

noch während der installation(nach dem eingeben der zeitzone und des root passworts) meldet es"
root files system failt a basic sainty test" kann mir da wer helfen?

Bist du dir sicher, daß die Hardware in Ordnung ist ?

eigentlich schon, denn jetzt hab ich ein netbsd 1.5.3 drauf und bin über glücklich, naja fast  

meine letzte frage auf dem weg ins nirvana hätte ich dann doch noch, unter twm wird ca. je 1cm den bildschirmrand nicht richtig angezeicht, daßich kann die ränder der maske nicht sehen..... gehe ich richtig in der annahme, daß eine zuhohe auflösung einstellt ist? wie kann ich das ändern? finde ich im framebuffer faq abhilfe?

Welchen Framebuffer hast du denn ?

... falls du es nochmal testest. Was hast du bei der Paketauswahl ausgewählt ? Ich gehe davon aus, FULL Installation.
Teste es mal mit Custom und achte drauf, das ein zu installierender Kernel ausgewählt ist.  Falls dies nicht der Fall ist, wähle einen Kernel aus zur Installation.

CG6 Gfx glaube ich, auf jeden fall den onboard framebuffer der ipx....

ich muß es auf jeden fall noch mal testen, da ich an die update funktion nicht so ganz glaube.....
