Ich könnt schreien :) So geil find ich Solaris auf meinen zwei Monitoren. :D Ach ja, hab ich schon erzählt, das ich die zweite XVR-500 heute bestellt hab? Wobei ich auf der Blade ernsthafte Sorgen habe ob das soooo einfach wie mit Xorg unter Solaris x86 geht. Mal schauen....

Mein Murrina Theme is zu sehen, also auch die MS Webcore True Type Fonts, ein moderner Desktop halt. :D

Ansonsten sieht das ganz nett aus mit den zwei fetten TFTs.

Na klar, ich hab meinen 1,4 GHz Tualatin ausgegraben, ne Wakü montiert, den Takt hochgedreht und bißchen den Befehlssatz erweitert damit die CPU 64-bit versteht. ;)

Worüber ich aber total glücklich bin, wie einfach das eigentlich selbst unter Solaris gegangen ist. Ich musst halt ein wenig in der xorg.config herumbauen, wobei das wirklich nichts besonders Kompliziertes war. Seht selbst:

Wichtig sind nur die zwei Device Sections, dort insbesonders der BusID Eintrag, dann die zwei Monitor Sections und die zwei Screen Sections. Zusammengeführt wird alles im ServerLayout und damit Xorg die Xinerama Erweiterung nutzt muss man Option "Xinerama" "true" zu den ServerFlags hinzufügen. :)
Steck ich jetzt noch ne zweite FX 560 in den Kasten kann ich noch zwei weitere Monitore anschließen. Also das ist doch mal ausbaufähig. :)

hab mal über die Mittagspause die zweite XVR-500 in die Blade gesteckt. Die Konfiguration des X-Servers war ja nen echtes Kinderspiel !!! Ich muss lediglich die "server_args" des x11-server Dienstes anpassen.

Das einzige Problem, irgendwas stimmt mit dem Signal nicht. Der Output des zweiten Framebuffer ist irgendwie komisch als würde ne Farbe teilweise fehlen. Sieht jedenfalls komisch aus und ist auf beiden Monitoren der Fall. Im Schlimmsten Fall ist der neue Framebuffer im Arsch. :( Muss mal heute Abend rumprobieren und mal umstecken, sprich die neue XVR-500 mal alleine fahren, usw.

Ach ja, so richtig Xinerama ist natürlich der Xsun X-Server natürlich nicht. Ich kann zwar mit der Maus mich zwischen beiden Monitorflächen hin und her bewegen, aber Applikationen können jeweils nur auf einem Schirm dargestellt werden. Ebenso erscheint auf dem zweiten Schirm ein weiteres CDE Menüteil unten im Fenster auf.
Na ja, muss mal schauen ob ich den X-Server so umstellen kann, damits genauso wie mit meinem Xinerama Desktop ist.

Der Framebuffer ist zum Glück nicht defekt. ;) Er funktioniert tadellos.... Allerdings gibt es einen Darstellungsfehler seitens Xsun. Und auch dieser Xinerama Mode funktioniert nicht so wie eigentlich im Handbuch beschrieben. Womöglich liegt es an meiner Solaris Version. Ich denke mir fehle da diverse Patches. Ich werd jetzt mal nen Versuch mit dem aktuellsten Community Express Build starten, wenns da nicht klappt, dann mal Solairs 10 11/06 installieren und ordentlich Updates/Patches einspielen. Irgendwie muss es ja gehen...

Unter Strich hat es aber schon was Erhabenes wenn da zwei so Framebuffer in der Blade stecken. :D :D :D
